{"id":606,"date":"2019-01-16T21:54:14","date_gmt":"2019-01-16T21:54:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.acrldvc.org\/news\/?p=606"},"modified":"2019-03-08T18:43:42","modified_gmt":"2019-03-08T18:43:42","slug":"acrl-dvc-board-meeting-minutes-december-19-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.acrldvc.org\/news\/2019\/01\/16\/acrl-dvc-board-meeting-minutes-december-19-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"ACRL DVC Board Meeting Minutes &#8211; December 19, 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>December 19, 2018<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ACRL DVC Board Meeting Minutes <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Attendees: &nbsp;Adam Mizelle, Jess Denke, Stefani Gomez, Elise Ferer, Jessica Brangiel, Karen Sheldon, Carol Howe<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>November meeting minutes were reviewed and approved. &nbsp;They will be posted to the blog after the meeting.  <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Financial report (Adam)<ul><li>Taxes were due in November, still in the works. &nbsp;There are no late fees.  <\/li><li>Chapter funds in good shape. &nbsp;<\/li><li>Question came up about raising membership and\/or program attendance fees<ul><li>It\u2019s been sometime since we have raised either. &nbsp;More money through increased membership?  Allows to give back more to the chapter (student stipends, member travel grants etc.)<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>What is our spending budget?<ul><li>Adam to start a draft budget <\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Mentorship Program update (Stefani)<ul><li>We have five new matches of mentors\/mentees <ul><li>We will do some assessment in February of how things are going for mentors<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Program updates <ul><li>The fall program planning committee created a \u201clessons learned\u201d document on Drive to document best practices when organizing DVC programs<\/li><li>We will find out about Scholarly Communications Roadshow on Friday &#8211; Jess to email the group<ul><li>If we get the grant that will be the spring program if not then have to plan spring program. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Update since the December meeting &#8211; we got the Scholarly Roadshow Grant. <\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Looking ahead to spring<ul><li>Resume Review &#8211; March<ul><li>Outreach <ul><li>We have a list of different chapters, schools to contact for resume review we will reach out to past reviewer volunteers <\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Board elections<ul><li>Election for open board positions will begin in March <ul><li>Open positions include VP, Director at Large and Secretary<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Nancy has list of people interested in running on board. &nbsp;<\/li><li>Past President (Nancy) runs election<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Legislative Day &#8211; May<ul><li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/advocacy\/nlld\">http:\/\/www.ala.org\/advocacy\/nlld<\/a> &#8211; &nbsp;In light of ALA&#8217;s Annual Conference, which will take place in Washington, D.C. on June 20-25, 2019, the next National Library Legislative Day will occur in 2020. <\/li><li>Let\u2019s think about local legislative outreach opportunities<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Web update &#8211; Karen<ul><li>Archiving website<ul><li>Karen will reach out to Leslie to archive old website before it\u2019s taken down. <\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Blog update &#8211; Megan<ul><li>Table of Contents (TOC) email &nbsp;&#8211; Jessica to look into further<\/li><li>Megan doing a meet the board member series. <\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Social committee update &#8211; Elise\/Adam <ul><li>Working on Books Through Bars (47th and Baltimore) event to be held January\/February <\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Next board meeting: January 16 12:00-1:30 PM<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>December 19, 2018 ACRL DVC Board Meeting Minutes Attendees: &nbsp;Adam Mizelle, Jess Denke, Stefani Gomez, Elise Ferer, Jessica Brangiel, Karen Sheldon, Carol Howe November meeting minutes were reviewed and approved. &nbsp;They will be posted to the blog after the meeting.
